what's silphworks?
SilphWorks used to be a vaguely exciting website where I intended to showcase my work as a web developer, blog about things, and maybe even provide a few useful tools for other developers. However, I never quite got round to finishing starting it. So instead, I am leaving a few pages up here for the time being, and when I work out how to clone myself more interesting content may appear.
about me
from my 2007 trip to Egypt
I'm Daniel G Wood, web developer, programmer and student. I have 6 years of experience in web design, programming and web architecture, and also skills in a number of less-useful areas such as ink cartridge replenishment (see my CV!).
I'm a self-confessed computer geek, but I do enjoy normal things aswell, like going out, getting drunk, and eating discarded toenails. I love (and miss) travelling, and I also enjoy watching films.

At present I work and study at the University of Kent. I am a 2nd year Computer Science student, and loving the course. My part-time job is as a web developer, building and maintaining University websites. I also do a lot of volunteer work on the CS Guru and Edison projects, which I started in my first year here.
Previously I worked as a freelance web developer, however I'm taking a couple of years off from this while I concentrate on my degree and other projects. You're welcome to download my C.V. if you like - there are some links on the left. If you'd like to get in touch, please email me using the following address: daniel.g.wood [at] gmail.com.
